Edo period (19th century), signed Gyonen nanajussai Toju (Toju age 70) and with kao (cursive monogram)
Designed in gold, silver, red, brown and black takamaki-e with passengers in a ferry boat landing on a river bank, the clouds in mura nashiji and kirigane and waves in togidashi, the interior risers decorated with landscape scenes in gold, brown, silver and red togidashi; fitted with a coral bead ojime and an ivory Shibayama-style manju netsuke with the attributes of the Seven Household Gods inlaid in mother-of-pearl, colored ivory and lacquer, signed Shibayama
