the shaped case with sheaves of corn rising from the top, with scrolling handles to the sides (one missing) above bats' wing paterae, the white enamel Roman dial (some staining) with moon hands within milled and egg-and-dart bezel, mounted with a dragonfly above and laurel wreaths below and to the sides, with flowerheads to the corner of the dial (two missing), on spreading side-milled socle and octagonal base with double anthemion mounts, with circular feet, the twin going barrel movement with silk suspension and strike on bell -- 18in.(40.5cm.) high
