by Philip Harris Ltd, Birmingham, with graduated brass beam, brass column with ivorine plaque, index, plumb bob and beam-raising lever, on a mahogany base with two adjustable screw feet, with a mahogany-cased set of brass gramme weights and five miscellaneous brass weights, in a glazed mahogany case with sliding front panel -- 45.2cm. (17¾in.) wide; a mahogany-cased Wheatstone bridge/resistance bank, by W.G. Pye & Co., Cambridge, no.14,222, with six terminals, 23 bakelite-handled pins and two tappers -- 28.7cm. (11¼in.) wide; and a brass and black-painted voltmeter by Pye, with two terminals, viewing window and three screw feet (3)
