signed John Browning 63, Strand, London, the 5½-inch long body-tube with draw-tube adjustment on a curved arm from a turning knob, and adjustable eyepiece aperture, mounted in an oxidised-brass sleeve atop a telescopic brass table stand, in a fitted mahogany case -- 18.2cm. (7 1/8in.) wide; and another lacquered-brass spectroscope, by A. Hilger, with draw-tube adjustment and adjustable eyepiece aperture, in a brass tube -- 13.8cm. (5 3/8in.) wide
