A good 19th-Century lacquered-brass 2¾-inch table telescope,
unsigned but engraved indistinctly on the inside of the lens cap Thomas Jones, London, the 42-inch long body-tube with starfinder, rack and pinion focusing and two fixing points for the telescopic support rod, raised on a compass joint from a tapering column with mahogany-handled worm-screw horizontal adjustment at the base on three folding inswept feet, with three extension tubes, one with rack and pinion adjustment, two astronomical and two terrestrial eyepieces and a right-angled eyepiece attachment with removable mirror inside, adjustable for SUN or STAR, signed Dollond London, in a fitted mahogany carrying case -- 115.8cm. (45 5/8in.) wide
