YONGZHENG (1723-35)
Finely enamelled on one side in the famille rose palette with two sages standing on a cliff edge gazing up towards the crescent moon, the reverse painted in grisaille with a boatman on a river flowing through a mountainous landscape, the shorter ends of the brushpot moulded with horizontal tiers simulating stacked books
