Lot Essay

John has drawn this young child wearing one of the smocks which Dorelia had made for their children, and it is more than likely a drawing of one of them, either Robin, David or Pyramus. Despite the bow depicted in the hair, the drawing could be of a little boy, rather than a girl.
We are very grateful to Rebecca John for her assistance in preparing the catalogue entry for this lot.
