English 18th-century red straight-grained morocco gilt, green morocco spine label, marbled endpapers, gilt edges. Provenance: Dukes of Devonshire (Chatsworth bookplate) -- Patrick Robinson, bibliophile (1927-1999); by descent to the present owner.
