Details
PUCCINI, Giacomo. Two autograph letters signed and one autograph postcard signed to Antonio Bertolacci, Genoa, Milan and Torre del Lago, 7 March 1919 and n.d., two pages, 8vo, and one page, 12mo, on letter cards; envelope.
An undated letter from Milan gives Puccini's onward address in Paris, and informs Bertolacci of the immediate sale of a motor car -- 'it was too good an occasion to miss - the type 12 h.p. is difficult to find in good condition'. The letter gives his travel plans for the remainder of the summer, of which July is to be spent 'totally secluded of my own accord to be able to finish my work which has progressed but little here'. The letter from Torre del Lago asks Bertolacci to find out about the progress of an investment -- 'I would like my 2500 returned as it is not a small sum!'. The postcard makes arrangements to talk about a letter from Doria when Puccini is back in Torre del Lago -- 'or perhaps next Saturday you will come to the première?'. (3)
