Lot Essay

2In the film, the monkey belongs to an Arab spying for the Nazis who are in Cairo searching for the Ark of the Covenant. The spy has to stop Indiana in his attempt to find the Ark before the Nazis. The monkey befriends Marion Ravenwood [Karen Allen] and Indiana [Harrison Ford] but instead of helping his master kill Indiana, inadvertantly saves his life by eating a poisoned date intended for him.
