An English small walnut longcase clock, late 19th century
The stepped top hood with gilt-brass capitals to ebonised outset spiral-twist columns, the short trunk door with lenticle glass, on stepped plinth, the 9in. square brass dial with cherub and coronet spandrels to silvered Roman chapter ring, with engraved seconds and date rings to the centre, with false plate to the four pillar movement with shouldered plates, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; adapted -- 67in. (170cm.) high
