The arched case with glazed front door and side panels, chevron marquetry inlay to the backboard, waisted terminal, with shell and scroll cast ormolu bezel to the white enamel Roman dial with subsidiary centre seconds, delicate blued steel hands, strike/silent lever by I, the eight day movement on sliding seatbaord, with deadbeat escapement and wood rod pendulum suspended from the backboard, quarter-strike and trip repeat on two gongs; lacking pulleys, with three brass weights -- 64in. (163cm.) high
