Super-chancery 2° (307 x 211mm). Roman type, heading on a3 printed in red, initial spaces. (A few wormholes at the beginning, tear in text x4.5 without loss, dampstaining at the end weakening final blank, some browning.) Contemporary half calf over wooden boards, evidence of two fore-edge clasps, manuscript spine label, title written on lower edges (lightly rubbed). Provenance: Ghirardi (early title inscription crossed through)-- Alessandro Padoani (17th-century title inscription) -- ?Genoa, Society of Jesus (erased stamp 'Biblioth. Privata P. Praep. Gen. S. J.') -- inscription dated 1513 at the end.

FIRST EDITION. The Cornucopia is Perotti's most outstanding work. Originally composed as a commentary on Martial, it became instead a standard work of reference on the Latin language. H *12697; Polain(B) 3049; BMC V, 455; Goff P-288.
