LETTER TO ELVIS PRESLEY FROM COL. PARKER AND ELVIS' INVITATION FOR APPEARANCE ON FRANK SINATRA SHOW
A signed two page typed letter to Elvis Presley from Col. Tom Parker on his own letterhead regarding Presley's return to public life after two years in the Army, as well as an invitation to the filming of the Frank Sinatra - Timex Show, which was Presley's first post-Army television appearance. Parker's lengthy single-spaced letter, dated January 9, 1960, updates Presley on his options upon returning to America from Germany, including a lucrative appearance on Sinatra's television show which earned Presley a record $100,000. Parker's letter reads in part (sic),"Take care of yourself and do sit down and let me have your thoughts on this letter as I have to make some very important moves in the next 2 Months to get the best most out of everything for us." Parker also covers the filming of G.I. Blues and "of course sandwich in the recording of a quick single." The invitation to the filming of the Sinatra show on which Presley appeared is dated March 26, 1960 and also featured Sammy Davis Jr. and Nancy Sinatra.
