A VIENNA (DU PAQUIER) SILVER-MOUNTED OCTAGONAL TEAPOT AND COVER

Of slightly compressed form with a loop handle, the spout of hexagonal section, with moulded foliage below, painted in blue, puce, red and green and enriched with silvering with a band of scrolls below the rim suspending shaped panels of diaper ornament divided by panels of scrolls enclosing shells, each panel terminating below with pendant husks, the spout and rim with silvered borders, the shallow-domed octagonal cover with a band of similar scrolls supporting shells and husks about a silvered octagonal knop finial, the handle and finial joined with a silver chain (tip of spout chipped, minor flaking to silvering and enamels)
