CIRCA 1760, BROWN NB: MONOGRAM, INCISED IH MARK
Modelled by Cyfflé, with his head turned to the left and looking down slightly and with his arms folded, wearing a black hat, a loose white shirt, a blue and purple chequered waistcoat, puce striped white breeches, standing barefoot with his dog lying at his feet, a satchel stuffed with grapes slung over a naturally coloured tree-stump, on a shaped oval grassy mound base edged with rocks and applied with foliage (over-painting to disguise chipping to edge of base, satchel strap with small section lacking and chip at back, some flaking to black enamel of hat, chipping to foliage and very slight wear to enamels)
