CIRCA 1765, BLUE Z AND BLUE ,, MARK
Of tapering form boldly moulded with interlocking foliage scrolls, rocaille-ornament and C-scrolls, all enriched in gilding and enclosing three river-landscape scenes on the bombé front painted by Thomae, the larger central scene with two fisherman on a rocky riverbank, the others with single figures by dilapidated buildings, the slightly domed D-shaped shoulder edged with a gilt line rim enclosing five flared circular pierced nozzles about a D-shaped aperture, before a raised shaped triangular back with a pierced aperture for suspension (large chip to right edge of lower part, slight chipping to edge on reverse, very slight wear to gilding)
