The lady with her head turned to the right and hands in a fur-lined muff, wearing a white headscarf, small black ruff, an ermine-lined ochre jacket and an ochre skirt with plum borders, a pair of skates hanging from her left arm by the laces, the gallant standing in a relaxed pose with his left hand on his hip and holding a pipe in his right hand, wearing a green and gilt fur-edged hat, a russet coat and breeches and white gaiters, his pale yellow-ish green waistcoat with olive-green flowers, his skates stuffed into his right pocket, each on circular rockwork mound bases (chipping to underside of bases, he with stem of pipe lacking, flap of pocket restuck, fine crack to chest, right shoulder and back with small area of associated flaking to russet enamel at back, flaking to waistcoat and other areas)
