A fine scale model of the New York Pilot schooner Phantom
Attributed to William E. Hitchcock (American, 20th century)
modeled in 1:64 scale with the hull built up from the solid and finished with a copper plated bottom, black topsides and a mahogany cap rail. The decks are planked in basswood and are fitted with numerous details which include: anchors, windlass, pin & fife rails, stove pipe, companionways, 2 boats on deck, cockpit with ship's wheel and other details. Rigged as a schooner and fitted with two masts, mast hoops, spreaders, standing and running rigging, turning blocks, deadeyes, and other rigging details. Displayed on a pair of wooden pedestals within a brass trimmed glass case with mahogany base
