8o (216 x 134 mm). Interleaved. (First quire loose.) Contemporary stitched gilt wrappers by Leopold of Augsburg (spine broken, front cover loose). Provenance: L.-F.-A. Gaudefroy (his signature on the front flyleaf and his extensive notes throughout).

PRICED in a contemporary hand. A very interesting copy having belonged to the bibliographer and bookseller Gaudefroy, together with his autograph list of books he purchased and with the very rare printed 8-page supplement loosely inserted at end. Barthélémy was mainly known for his celebrated Voyage du jeune Anacharsis en Grèce which was to revive hellenism in the late 18th century. North 409.
