The sales catalogue of Conring's remarkable library. Conring, physician to Queen Christina of Sweden in 1622, was later professor of law at Helmstedt and is the founder of German law history and of diplomatics. His sale included many books on science and medicine and may be considered the first important collection of medical books sold at auction.

(Moritz Bodenehr ?). PRICED THROUGHOUT. Complete with its second part, this sale of nearly 10,000 lots is one of the earliest to be held in Leipzig. Carpzov belonged to a distinguished family of Leipzig scholars and his library contained a large number of 16th-century books including theology, law, medicine and philosophy.
