A RARE FAMILLE ROSE INCENSE STAND
JIAQING SEAL MARK IN IRON-RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The dish enamelled in turquoise and with a keyfret border in iron-red around the rim, the center molded with the Hehe Erxian holding a covered vessel while Liu Hai's three-legged toad climbs over their shoulders, encircled by a ring of eight auspicious objects, possibly in reference to the Eight Treasures

Similar incense stands, or incense stick holders, include one illustrated in A Special Exhibition of Incense Burners and Perfumers Throughout the Dynasties, National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1994, p. 246, no. 100, dated to the Qianlong period, as well a pair sold in our London rooms, 6 June 1994, lot 234, with iron-red Daoguang seal marks and of the period.
