YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
The interior delicately painted with a peony branch bearing a large blossom in pale yellow tinged in pink and a pink bud, both surrounded by leaves in translucent turquoise and green glaze, all below the petal-molded sides
6½ in. (16.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

This group of rare dishes typifies the delicate elegance of the finest Yongzheng porcelains. Recorded examples include two in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 30 - Porcelains with Cloisonne Enamel Decoration and Famille Rose Decoration, Hong Kong, 1999, pp. 68-9, nos. 58-9.
