The LNWR 'George V' Class 4-4-0 locomotive and tender No.1595 'Wild Duck',
scratch built by E. Underhill, with internal and external details including working inside motion and valve gear, fluted coupling rods, brake and sanding gear, lubricator and fine pipework, riveting, scale cab and back head fittings, steps, hand and lamp irons and lamps. Tender details include brake gear, pick up scoop, watercocks, tank filler cap and vents, steps, hand and lamp irons and other details. Finished in LNWR livery and lining by L. Goddard -- 9.5 x 40cm. (3¾ x 15¾in.)

Lot Essay

Originally designed by George Whale as the very successful Precursor Class 4-4-0, some were eventually rebuilt under C.J. Bowen-Cooke with superheated boilers, larger smoke boxes and piston valves.
