A rare famille verte-rose biscuit figure of a horse and rider
Circa 1720-1730
The piebald caparisoned horse standing on a rectangular base, the head inclined towards the right, hogged mane and long tail, the trappings decorated with small bosses and tassels below the chin and neck, the elegant equestrienne seated on the saddle, wearing a short blue coat with flower pattern above a pink pleated skirt, her pointed shoes well placed in the stirrups, the arms bent as if to hold the reins, the finely modelled smiling face with earrings and helmet-like knot, small restorations and chips
