Mason, 1844. 8vo., 22p. + advertisement leaf, 6 etched portraits only (of 8), 2 folding (some spots and stains on plate margins, folding plate of Langdon laid down, that of Mynn soiled on verso of one fold, some marginal soiling of text), original green cloth, upper cover gilt lettered (rebacked, front hinges repaired, rear inner hinges split). Provenance: Edward Heathcote, 1847 (ownership signature on front pastedown) -- full-page ms note concerning "new laws with respect to substitutes" (on rear free endpaper) -- Robert Stratten Holmes, Wakefield, 22.4.[18]91 (inscription on front free endpaper) -- John Arlott (two pencil inscriptions on free endpaper, regarding restoration and issue points, the former signed).
ISSUE WITH 8 PORTRAITS. Lacking 2 of the 4 folding plates but, nevertheless, a copy with an impressive provenance. Goldman p. 126; Padwick 386.
