Mason, 1844. 8vo., 22p. + advertisement leaf, 8 etched portraits with aquatint, 4 folding, all but one hand-coloured (portrait of Pilch with crease mark at inner margin, folding portrait of Kynaston tipped in, portrait of Langdon split along the two fold lines and crudely repaired with adhesive tape on verso, the uncoloured portrait of Taylor supplied from another copy, some soiling), original green cloth, upper cover gilt lettered (front pastedown soiled, rear inner hinges split). Provenance: J.W. Goldman (bookplate; pencil note in his hand stating that Epworth's price for the issue with only one illustration was £8-8-0 in November 1950; lot 141 at Hodgson's, 24 November 1966, bought in at £9).
