[1951], 2 pages, 8vo; and a letter by Laurence Houseman to Redcliffe Salaman with related typewritten letters.
Waugh writes on reading Mrs Wall's novel, Growing Up, 'You have attempted something very difficult in writing a language so colloquial as to be almost a dialect. One or two writers have brought this off -- Anita Loos, P.G.Wodehouse, "Henry Green" and Rose Macaulay', and giving further criticism; Edith Sitwell reassures her correspondent about a poem that is late, and 'Osbert's ceremony went off happily & he looked good in his doctor's robes'.
