Barrel-shaped, with moulded borders and mid-ribs and vertically incised bands to suggest hoops and staves, the detachable cover applied with a cast pickaxe finial, the body and cover engraved with a crest, marked on base and cover bezel

The crest is that of Thellusson, presumably for Charles Thellusson M.P. (1770-1815)
