Modelled by J.J. Kändler, wearing a gilt-edged brown long coat, a puce waistcoat with gilt foliage and black breeches with gilt buttons, seated on a rock and writing a letter with a quill, the page inscribed Monsieur. Les nouvelles assurances que vous m'avez données de votre amitie, the shaped rectangular table with a serpentine front and cabriole legs enriched with gilding, the top with writing equipment, a watch and a silvered box, on a shaped rectangular mound base applied with coloured flowers and foliage (head restuck with minute associated losses, extending crack from left pocket of long coat through and across base and up into rock at back, some flaking to enamels on left shoulder and hair ribbon, chipping to flowers, foliage and quill, slight wear to gilding, wear to silvering)
