by Joseph-Etienne Blerzy (fl. 1768-1808), marked, Paris, 1777/1778, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache 1774-1780, the flange struck with inventory no. 684 and engraved with retailer's inscription 'DU PETIT DUNKERQUE'
Oval box, the panels on lid, four sides and base enamelled with clusters of twigs in brown camaïeu on a semi-translucent opalescent oyster-pink ground, within frosted gold borders applied with raised berries, leaves and pellets enamelled in translucent orange, green and red, the panels on lid and base enamelled further with bands of raised white enamelled pellets, the four side dividers similarly decorated
