A SWISS SPLIT-PEARL BORDERED AND ENAMELLED GOLD NEEDLE-CASE
Geneva, circa 1780, later struck with two French import marks
Slightly tapering of flattened oval section, the base with panels painted with Vestal Virgins on deep blue guilloché ground with floral festoons and white borders, the cover with split-pearl border and similar panels painted with hounds, the cap with foliate wreath
4 5/16 in. (110 mm.) high
