Movement No. 2141. Circa 1880
The anglaise riche case with foliate pierced and engraved panels to the glazed sides and to the dial mask with painted Roman chapter disc and blued steel distaff hands, the movement with long rectangular flared brass plates, side-by-side barrels for the going and hour strike trains, the platform lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, the hours striking on a gong on the backplate, the chiming train in the base with indirect wind on the backplate numbered 2141, Westminster chimes on four bells on each quarter
