The case with brass handle to the breakarch top applied with three raised rectangular pads, pierced brass fishscale frets to the sides, the moulded base on brass pad feet, brass-lined front door to a silvered engraved dial signed Mattw Dutton London, pierced blued steel hands, calendar aperture, Roman and Arabic chapter ring, strike/silent lever above 60, subsidiary ring in the arch for pendulum regulation, the movement with substantial brass plates and five pillars, twin gut fusees, half deadbeat escapement with spring-suspended pendulum regulated by a cam behind the dial via a cantilever platform above the plates, rack strike on a bell, the backplate with pendulum securing block and further signed Mattw.
