The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, with fishscale sound frets to the sides and on ball feet, the 7 in. wide arched Roman and Arabic dial with strike/sielnt ring in the arch, signed GEORGE CLERKE/Aldersgate/LONDON, subsidiary calendar ring, gilt-brass hands, the eight day twin gut fusee movement with five pillars, verge escapement and strike on bell, trip repeat, the back plate and securing brackets engraved with foliate designs and with a vase -- 18½ in. (47 cm.) high
