the stepped rectangular case with scrolling cornucopia mounts, surmounted by wreath, lyre, flowers and a bow with quiver, attributes of the winged Apollo who flanks the case, on plinth cast with frieze of amorini harvesting against a stippled ground and with lanceolate leaf border, on feet cast with anthemions, the dial within running flowerhead bezel with black-painted Roman chapter ring, moon hands and milled centre, the twin going barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 14½in.(37cm.) high
