CAST XUANDE SIX-CHARACTER MARK, 17TH CENTURY
The compressed globular body standing on three waisted legs within three equidistant panels, the base with a coiled chilong, the outer rim cold-worked with a cartouche containing the nianhao, the underside of each leg containing a character forming Qian Qing Gong, 'The Palace of Heavenly Purity', the bronze with an olive-green patina highlighted with irregular gilt splashes, the handles missing
5 in. (12.5 cm.) diam.
