A VERY RARE YAOZHOU CELADON MOULDED BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The interior moulded in the centre with two dragon carp in mutual pursuit among waves and six ducks swimming among breaking waves around the indented cavetto, the reverse simply carved with a foliate design, all under a bubble-suffused grey-green glaze
7¾ in. (19.6 cm.) diam.

No other example with this design appears to have been published. Compare the closely related bowls with ducks in the centre surrounded by foliate moulded sides from the Meiyintang Collection is illustrated by R.
