Lot Essay

A very similar example was sold in these Rooms, 25 April 2002. The field design of both is taken from a carpet in the Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Vienna (F. Sarre and H. Trenkwald, Alt-Orientalische Teppiche, Vienna, 1926, Vol 1, plate 42.)
