Lot Essay

This axe is carved very much after the style of Lotf'ali who signed a number of similar examples dated between 1735 and 1739 AD. (Melikian-Chirvani, A.S.: "The tabarzins of Lotf'ali", in R. Elgood: Islamic Arms and Armour, London, 1979, pp.116-135).
