A lustre painted pottery jug and lustre painted albarello
13TH AND 14TH CENTURY, IRAN
Both fritware with white slip, the jug with conical body on short foot, narrowing at the shoulder to cylindrical neck with small straight handle, painted with alternating bands of lustre and white with stylised inscriptions (losses to lustre), the albarello with lustre bands of stylised cartouches beneath frieze of blue stylised script (chips to the rim, restored, break just above the foot, restored)
The jug 18 cm. high, the albarello 16 cm. high (2)
