A small lustre painted ewer and a small lustre painted jar
14TH CENTURY, KASHAN, IRAN
Both fritware, white slip with lustre decoration, the ewer with a globular body, narrow spout, narrow neck and flaring rim, the body with frieze of paired half palmettes, reserved on lustre ground, the neck left white with band of white stylised script over lustre ground rim (small break in spout, repaired), the jar, of bulbous form, with a small mouth flaring towards the base, the body with repeated stylised inscription (possibly Allah) in white over lustre ground (one repaired break with slight repainting)
The ewer 12 cm. high, the jar 5.5 cm. high (2)
