With nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the pink matte dial with black hard enamel baton and Arabic numerals, outer blue telemetre and black tachymetre scales, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minutes registers, in circular water-resistant-type case with screw back and Oyster Patent screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band, stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet, case, dial and movement signed
35 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

Accompanied by the letter dated 11 January 1990 from Rolex Geneva to the present owner confirming manufacture of the present watch in November 1939. Mr. R. Arnet of Rolex furthermore confirms that a limited series of 36 examples of reference 3525 in steel were produced in the first year.

The model was also made in yellow and pink gold as well as steel and gold (yellow and pink). Different versions in regard to case material and dial are illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 162-192.
