Lot Essay

The Submariner model was introduced to the market at the Basel Fair in 1954 after having been tested during Professor August Piccard and his son Jacques' world depth record of 10,335 feet or 3,150 meters below the ocean's surface.

The present watch is from the reference 5513 series launched in 1958 and featuring, amongst other modifications, shoulders to protect the winding crown.

Cigarette 1
The "Cigarette" boat model is known as the market's premier powerboat since the late 1960s when speed became an obsession for boating aficionados. It is one of the most identifiable logos and brands in today's market and an icon for "go fast" boats.
