A MEISSEN TEACUP AND SAUCER FROM A JAGD SERVICE
CIRCA 1740, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, PRESSNUMMER 10 TO CUP, GILDER'S i TO BOTH
The cup painted with a huntsman pursuing a stag on horseback in a wooded river landscape, within a shaped quatrefoil gilt cartouche with scrolls, diaper panels and ombrierte shells edged with red and puce scrolls and drapery, the loop handle flanked by ombrierte insects and Holzschnitt Blumen, the interior with a vignette within a red double concentric circle cartouche below a border of gilt interlocking scrolls, the saucer with two huntsmen and a dog, one shooting a stag, before a distant castle, within a similar cartouche and border, gilt band rims (minute areas of wear)
