The moulded bow-fronted brèche d'Alep marble top above a door inlaid with bois de bout flower sprays in end-cut kingwood within interlaced strapwork borders, enclosing a plain interior with a shelf, flanked by C-scroll foliate angles and conformingly-inlaid sides, above a waved apron and on short cabriole legs with pierced foliate sabots, stamped 'L.BOUDIN' and 'JME' twice

Lot Essay

Léonard Boudin, marchand-ébéniste, maître in 1761.

Boudin's oeuvre is amongst the most prolific of the Transitional period, and his stamp as a marchand often appears alongside that of the maker. He collaborated on numerous occasions with Cosson.
