A ROMAN TERRA SIGILLATA BOWL
CIRCA LATE 1ST-EARLY 2ND CENTURY A.D.
Probably from southern Gaul, the hemispherical bowl on a ring base, molded with two registers, the upper with a series of festoons with foliate terminals, the lower with a hare alternating with two dogs, all leaping to the right, with vegetal bundles in between, ovolo above, laurel below, with beaded dividers
3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) high; 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm.) diameter
