Lot Essay

Named 'The World's Prettiest Photographer', Bunny Yeager started her career as a model in the 1950s. Quickly discovering that she was a natural behind the camera as well as in front of it, she began shooting glamour shots of her model friends (including Bettie Page, who she is credited with discovering). The success of these photos led to work for Playboy and a number of leading publications. This was followed by a series of books on how to successfully photograph the female figure. In 1964 she made the low-budget Bunny Yeager's Nude Camera that was both a 'how to' for photography and an excuse to show lots of naked girls. She has won several awards for her work and remains one of the most renowned glamour photographers in the world. The woman with the camera shown on the lobby card in this lot is Bunny Yeager herself.
