A VICTORIAN SILVER TEAPOT AND CREAM-JUG
MARK OF ROBERT HENNELL, LONDON, 1870
Melon fluted and on circular rim foot, the body engraved with 'CV' monogram below a royal crown and within a garter, the teapot with an ivory insulated scroll handle and hinged cover with baluster finial, the interior of the cream jug gilded, each marked on base, the teapot also marked inside cover, the teapot stamped '1870' the cream jug stamped '1866'
6½ in. (16 cm.) long
gross weight 10 oz. (320 gr.)
The initials are for Prince Christian Victor of Schleswig-Holstein (1867-1900), eldest son of Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein (1831-1917) and Princess Helena (1846-1923), 3rd daughter of Queen Victoria. (2)
