Broadside, accordion-folded into four panels, and folded again at top and bottom to form two flaps folding over each panel (320 x c.335 fully opened), watermarked c.1817. Lithographed, and hand-coloured. (Light spotting and browning.) Stitched in original drab wrappers, watermarked 1819 (yapp edges lightly creased).
RARE. ESTC records no copies of this popular pantomime. Robert Sayer issued his Harlequinades in coloured and uncoloured states; this is 'Book 13' in a series of 15. Similar examples of this hybrid form between book and toy, including the Tringham Harlequinades, are known to have been sold in toy shops.
